Pawan Kalyan Biography

Pawan Kalyan is born to Konidela Venkat and Anjana Devi on 2 September 1971 . He had two elder brothers and two sisters Vijaya Durga and Madhavi.

He is the one of the youngest brother of Chiranjeevi, a prominent actor, politician in Andhra Pradesh, and producer Nagendra  Babu.

Pawan Kalyan is a vegetarian. He is highly influenced by Che Guevara, Jiddu Krishnamurti and Swami Vivekananda's philosophy.  

Kalyan is trained in martial arts. He holds a black belt in karate and has displayed his skills in several of his films. He publicly performed his martial arts skills at several auditoriums. He was awarded the title "Pawan", symbolizing Hanuman. From then, Kalyan Babu became popular as Pawan Kalyan.

He married Nandini, but they got divorced. 

After the divorce with spouse Nandini, Pawan Kalyan was married to Renu Desai on 28 January 2009.

 

She is an actress who co-starred with him in the movies Badri and Johnny.

 The couple has two children, a son named Akira Nandan born in 2004, and a baby girl named Aadhya born in 2010. Pawan Kalyan favorite director is Akira Kurosawa and hence he named his son after him as Akira Nandan. 

His wife Renu Desai is an Actress and a Costume designer for most of his films.

Reports say that Pawan Kalyan and Renu Desai split due to financial matters. It seems that Renu Desai was very disappointed with Pawan Kalyan's approach towards finance. But more than his separation, what's disturbing Pawan Kalyan is his children.

 He is the younger brother of actor turned producer Ramesh Babu Ghattamaneni. He also has two elder sisters, Padmavathi and actress-producer Manjula Ghattamaneni and one younger sister Priyadarshini.

Mahesh’s childhood was spent mostly in Madras under the care of his paternal grandmother Smt. Durgamma and the rest of his family. His father made sure all the children spent sufficient time with him on location and on his sets, especially during holidays.

Mahesh many times said that this was where his interest for acting began. The film sets were a second playground and he did not hesitate to face the camera when asked to do a small role in his brother Ramesh Babu‘s debut film, Needa at the age of 4.


 Mahesh studied at St. Bede‘s School in Chennai while continuing to attend his dad’s filming during holidays. Few of his schoolmates at St.Bede's were Surya (Tamil film actor) and Vishnuvardhan (Tamil film director). Mahesh obtained an Honours Degree in Commerce from Loyola College, Chennai. Mahesh Babu acted in seven of his father's films as a child actor.
